Professor Oak's Pokémon Trading Station
How it works...
In the Diamond and Pearl game, there are Pokémon Centers.
Players who have played the game long enough, can visit the basement of the Pokémon Center - which is the Pokémon Center Wi-Fi Club.
When two people exchange Pal Pad Numbers, they can trade and talk to each other when they are both in the Wi-Fi club in their games at the same time.
Requirements:
-
Players must have a Nintendo DS or DS Lite.
-
Players must exchange Pal Pad Codes.
-
Players must have a Wi-Fi connection, or be near a Wi-Fi hot spot.
-
Players must be in the Pokémon Wi-Fi club at the same time.
-
Players must have received the Pal Pad item - you get this the first time you enter the Wi-Fi Club.
Procedure:
On the following pages, you will be asked to:
- Identify Pokémon you would like to receive.
- You can select up to six Pokémon you would like to receive, but not all trainers may have all of those Pokémon.
- Pick a trainer to trade with that has some or all of the Pokémon you are looking for.
- This site allows approved trainers to offer their Pokémon for trade. Each trade is done with one trainer at a time.
- Pick which of that trainer's Pokémon you will take.
- Trainers may have multiples of each Pokémon, at different levels and different genders.
- Offer your Pokémon to the trainer.
- Pokémon are divided into five trade groups. You must offer a Pokémon from the same group as the one you are receiving.
- Group 1: First catch; These are Pokémon that you catch early in the game that everyone has.
- Group 2: Basic Low level; These are basic Pokémon that normally evolve into higher level Pokémon.
- Group 3: Stage1 and High level basic; These are stage 1 evolution Pokémon, and higher level basic Pokémon.
- Group 4: Stage 2 and Powerful; These are stage 2 and basic Pokémon that are high level or very popular.
- Group 5: Legendary; These are Pokémon that you can only catch 1 of in a game without cheating.
- Schedule an appointment.
- Each trainer posts a schedule of when they have openings to trade. You will pick an opening and sign up. At this time you will be asked for your game name, your Pal Pad ID, and your email. This information will be used to help make the trade go smoothly.
- You and the trainer will each receive an email giving full details of the upcoming trade. You are expected to have the promised Pokémon ready and in your party at the time of the appointment.
Making the Trade:
Making the trade is easy, you just have to be prepared ahead of time. An email will be sent to you with complete instructions.
In general:
- You will enter the trainer's Pal Pad number into your PalPad.
- Move the Pokémon you are trading into your party.
- Enter the Wi-Fi Club just before the appointed time, and wait for the trainer to invite you to trade.
- Say "Hi" and talk to the trainer (make sure your volume is turned up.)
- Trade the Pokémon
- Say "Thank you!"
- You're done!
A few rules:
- Trade backs are allowed.
- You may not switch cartridges, turn off your game, or leave the Wi Fi club during the trade.
- You may not trade cloned or hacked/modified Pokémon of any kind.
- It is your responsibility to be ready to trade at the appointed time. If you miss the appointment, the trade is canceled.
- These rules and procedures may change at any time without notice.
