Selling your cards to Professor Oak

The Plan:

This web site lists cards we are interested in purchasing, and the offered price. You pick out which cards you have and put them into your shopping "bag" and then check out as normal, instead, you send us the cards and we send you the money.

You can sell us cards for cash or store credit, the minimum sale we will accept is $25.00
Selling your cards for store credit allows you to purchase cards without the use of PayPal or a credit card.

How to check your cards...

Here's a short video on checking your cards.

Notice the damaged edges
and the dirt on the back.

I will return cards like this.

The Details:

  1. Create and account or log into your account. Accounts keep the spiders away.
  2. Gather up the cards you want to sell to us.
    1. They must be in mint condition. No scratches, tears, bends or dirt.
    2. They cannot be counterfeit.
    3. We are accepting commons and uncommons if we are out of that card, rares, holos ect if we are low on those cards.
  3. Search through these pages and locate those cards.
    1. If you find the card listed, add it to your bag.
    2. We may only want so many of each card, you cannot sell us more than that limit.
  4. Check out the "Hot" list.
    1. The hot list shows cards we need the most, listed by price from highest to lowest.
  5. When you are done, view the contents of your bag.
    1. Review the contents and "checkout..."
    2. Tell us how you want paid, PayPal, check or credit.
    3. Print your packing slip, keep a copy for yourself.
  6. Pack up the cards and mail them to us.
    1. Use a padded envelope to protect the cards.
    2. Wrap the cards up, do not leave them loose in the envelope. We wrap the cards in the packing list to help protect them.
    3. Include the Packing Slip!
    4. Double check the order for completeness before sending it!
    5. Use delivery confirmation or signature confirmation.
    6. Include your order number on the package.
    7. For an extra $1.50 (deducted from you payment) I will mail you an envelope and sleeves for the cards. This does not include postage.

Counterfeit Cards

Here is an excellent video on counterfeit cards.
http://www.expertvillage.com/video/107870_how-spot-counterfeit-pokemon-cards.htm
Also, if you paid $1.00 for the booster pack at a flee market or dollar store - they're fake.
Another really quick way to spot fake cards is to look for spelling errors on the card.

How to Ship your Cards: (very important!)

  • Ship in padded bubble envelopes.
    • This protects the cards from damage.
    • This reduces the chances of theft.
    • Plain white envelopes are sometimes delivered empty.
    • Bubble envelopes are available in the US from the Post Office and office supply stores.
  • Place the cards in penny sleeves.
    • These soft thin sleeves that prevent cards from rubbing.
    • They are available at any comic or sports card store.
  • Place one or more cards in a hard case. (but not all of them)
    • This keeps the cards from getting bent should they be run over. (this happens)
    • Hard Cases or Top Loaders are available from comic and sport card stores.
  • Wrap the cards, as a bundle, in the packing list.
    • Wrapping the cards keeps them from getting loose, getting bent, or worst of all, getting up into the glue that seals the envelope.
    • Loose cards that are damaged in transit will be rejected and returned.
    • Do not wrap each card individually.

Terms and Conditions:

  • Packages that are sent to us without prior approval through this process will be returned unopened.
  • Cards that are sent to us that are not included on the packing list will be kept or discarded without compensation (thank you.)
  • Cards that are not in acceptable condition based solely on our judgment will be returned at our expense, no compensation or credit will be given for those cards and the indicated amount will be deducted from the total compensation.
  • We are not responsible for lost or misdirected mail, or damage done to the package or contents in transit.

  • Payment can be made in the form of store credit, a check or money transfer to a PayPal account. You are responsible for any PayPal transaction fees.
  • Store credit is associated with a specific email address. Do not give out your password to anyone.
